As Managing Partner and Wealth Advisor for CarsonAllaria Wealth Management, Scott draws from his experience of over 25 years in the industry to provide strategic direction for our firm, while also working directly with clients to create and maintain their financial plans. He specializes in retirement planning and estate planning for high net worth individuals. He also excels in business planning, helping professionals with the sale of their business and passing assets on to future generations.

Scott has earned multiple designations, including an AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) certification, which is a top designation for advisors that oversee corporate retirement plans, and a CEPA (Certified Exit Planning Advisor) certification, which enables Scott to advise business owners on creating a plan on how to structure the sale of their business and obtain maximum value as a result.

Scott has been the driving force behind our core philosophy of coordination in financial planning. Over the years, he has formed relationships with clients’ CPAs, attorneys and bankers, as part of his team approach to financial planning.

“In order for anyone to have a sound financial plan, I believe it’s imperative to make sure that each area of that plan is working together effectively and efficiently. I have always tried to be proactive in reaching out to other members of our clients’ team of professionals to make sure that what we are doing works with what they are doing.”

Scott began his financial planning career with IDS (An American Express Company) in 1989 after working as a commercial banker for five years with MidAmerica Banks and Citigroup. He was a partner with the Pines Financial Group prior to founding Meridian Financial Group in 1999, where he continued to build his client base for over 15 years.

Scott and his wife, Kendra, reside in Edwardsville and have two grown children, Bryce and Alison. Bryce is married with two daughters and Alison is engaged to be married in 2018. Kendra is a tax preparer and has worked in her family’s accounting business for over 35 years. Scott & Kendra enjoy spending time with family & friends, road biking, traveling and getaways at their Southern Illinois farm.

“Spending time with family and friends is our top priority these days, and having grandkids makes that even more special.”
